Kick Off Summer With Camp Weary Parent
The girls over at Weary Parent have some great ideas for summer fun. They are having Camp Weary Parent. They’ve come up with some really great ideas for a summer camp you can do at home. Some of their ideas would also be great for a summer birthday party, summer reading kick off party, or backyard barbecue. I thought I’d share some of the fun stuff they came up with here.
They’re kicking off the camp with a splash, with some fun water games and cool snacks for those hot summer days. These games would be great for kids and adults to play at your next backyard gathering.
They’re having time travel week at Camp Weary Parent, and they’ve listed a whole bunch of great time travel resources. Time travel would make a really fun birthday party theme, or summer library kick off party.
You could come up with a whole range of party ideas, just from the Magic Tree House series alone. I may have to expand on that in another post. You could use an under the sea, medieval knights, wild west, or jungle theme just to name a few.
Every party has to have snacks, and Camp Weary Parent has some great ideas, starting with rock candy, which would be great fun for kids to make. They’ve also rounded up a whole list of healthy snacks. The fruity popsicles, and the ants on a log look like fun party finger food.
If you’re looking for crafts and activities they tell you how to make your own teepees and pyramids. They also have a whole list of time travel activities.
