We’re Planning a Graduation Party
My very brave niece Caitlin is graduating from high school this year. Though she’s graduating in June, her graduation party will be held in mid-July. Why is Caitlin so brave? She agreed to plan her graduation party with me through this blog on the condition that I “don’t embarrass her”. I promise Caitlin, and you can all keep me in check.
So, Caitlin and I still need to talk, but since her party is in July here’s what I’m thinking off the top of my head:
- Something outside
- Something casual
- Swimming in the pool
- Some fun, yet grown up party games
- Music
- Something environmentally friendly
Now this isn’t going to be an upscale, over the top party. There is a budget and the environment to consider. My sister and her family are quite green and if Caitlin is in agreement I’d love to see what kind of eco friendly, yet fun party we can come up with.
My sister owns a nice piece of property for entertaining friends and family outside. They also have a pool, so I’m thinking pool party or maybe some sort of tropical theme. As Caitlin and I plan her party, I’m hoping you’ll also offer some great graduation party tips as well. Caitlin will be attending pre-veterinary school in the fall. I hope this party will offer a reminder of how special she is and send her off to college feeling confident and positive.

I found that the park is an excellent place to hold a party. Many state parks have these pavilions you can rent for $25 or $50 - which is refundable. You can have nice barbecue or family reunion there.
