One of my favorite recipes using chocolate is really simple. Chocolate covered strawberries! I just melt chocolate morsels in a glass bowl that is sitting on top of a pot of simmering water. Rinse and pat dry the strawberries and dip them and place them on a foil lined sheet pan. Put in fridge for about 30 mins to set.

I love bananas and chocolate together, so I always add 1/4 to 1/3 cup of Hershey’s Cocoa to my regular banana bread and banana muffin recipes. The overripe bananas add enough sweetness that extra sugar isn’t necessary and complement the chocolate nicely. If the product turns out a little dry, I’ll make a note to add a dollop of plain yogurt, too. A little cocoa and a handful of chocolate chips make any recipe double chocolate!
P.S. My 12-year-old daugher loves to dip a finger into whatever batter I’ve concocted to “make sure it’s okay.” The look on her face was priceless when she sampled a little melted unsweetened chocolate thinking it was a ganache!

Chocolate is the ultimate desert! There are so many different recipes that use chocolate, but my favorite would have to be FUDGE! So rich…so decedent…so perfect. I have two favorite recipes that are equally INSANE, so I will put both. The first is a simple, but delicious, fudge.

    You need:

    large can of evaporated milk
    1/2 cup sugar
2 sticks of margarine or butter
    18 ozs of chocolate chips
    1-1/2 tsp of vanilla
    2 cups chopped nuts (optional)

    Directions:

1.Bring sugar and milk to a boil in a saucepan, stirring constantly for 10 minutes.

    2. Combine butter and chocolate chips in large pan, add boiling sugar mixture and beat quickly until smooth and creamy.

    3. Add vanilla and optional nuts.

    4. Pour into 8×12 inch pan.

    5. Let cool.

    6. Cut into squares

    7. Hide from others :-)

The second is called Candy Bar Fudge. It is so good that you have to hide it or else it will be gone in seconds. My family loves this, and I hope you will, too.

    You need:

    1/2 cup Butter or margarine
    1/3 cup Baking cocoa
    1/4 cup Packed brown sugar
    1/4 cup Milk
    3 1/2 cup Confectioners’ sugar
    1 ts Vanilla extract
    30 Caramels, unwrapped
    1 tb Water
    2 cup Salted peanuts
    1/2 cup Semisweet chocolate chips
    1/2 cup Milk chocolate chips

1.In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the butter, cocoa, brown sugar and milk.

    2. Microwave on high until mixture boils, about three minutes.

    3. Stir in confectioners’ sugar and vanilla.

4.Pour into a greased 8-in. square baking pan.

    5. In another microwave-safe bowl, heat caramels and water on high for 2 minutes or until melted.

    6. Stir in peanuts; spread over chocolate layer.

    7. Microwave chocolate chips on high for 1 minute or until melted; spread over caramel layer.

    8. Chill until firm.

    Warning: may cause extreme happiness.

As for an anecdote, last year, my family was making the candy bar fudge. My son, Alex, was in charge of the very hot chocolate mixture. He accidently poured the chocolate on his arm, so we had to take him to the hospital for burns. On the way there, though, he licked all the chocolate off his arm while crying because of the burns. Alex was fine, and when we got home, he wanted to finish the fudge-with a bandage on his arm. In case you haven’t figured it out, Alex is a self-proclaimed chocoholic.

    Enjoy!

This is great for outside on the grill - place a flour tortilla on a piece of tine foil. Spread peanut butter on the tortilla and sprinkle chocolate chips and mini marshmallows on top. Roll the tortilla and then roll that in the foil. Place on the grill for about 5 minutes or so, and enjoy! It is really delicious!!!!

OK, you asked for it. This is a phenomenal recipe! It’s super easy, 1-bowl prep, only 6 ingredients, and my family scarfs it down like there’s no tomorrow! It’s rich and dense, a small piece goes a long way.

Here you go. You want Bliss? This is it:

    Fudge Brownie Pie

    1 cup sugar
    1 stick butter, melted
    2 eggs, lightly beaten
    1/2 cup flour
    1/3 cup baking cocoa
    1 teaspoon vanilla

In a mixing bowl, mix sugar and melted butter very well. Add eggs, mix well. Add flour, cocoa, and vanilla. Spray a 9-inch pan or pie plate with Pam, pour batter into pan, and bake for about 25 minutes. Don’t overbake.

This is an insanely great dessert. I like to sprinkle some confectioners sugar on top before I serve it….that is…if I get to serve it before these four kids of mine attack it.

Thanks for the giveaway. I can never have enough chocolate. What woman can ??!!

    My favorite recipe is buckeyes
You need a 16 oz of peanut butter
    stick of butter
    a 1/2 bag of powdered sugar ( you need 8 oz )
and your choice of choc. chips ( I use milk choc )
Mix all ingred. together except choc. chips
form into balls and put in refridge for at least an hour ( you may put in over night if you wish)
when you are ready to take the balls out, put your choc. chips in a double brioler and melt chocolate. put a toothpick in the balls and dip in the chocolate leaving a small circle that is not covered on top ( to look like a buckeye).
sit on waxed paper or foil until choc. sets ( may need to put in refridgerator for 1/2 hour or so ).
peal off paper and enjoy!! This is an Ohio favorite!! Go Buckeyes!!!!

    Chocolate Cream

    3/4 cup granulated sugar
    2 squares chocolate
    l/8 teaspoon salt
    l/2 teaspoon vanilla
    l/4 Cup cream

Mix chocolate, sugar and cream. Cook until chocolate melts. Simmer three minutes. Add salt and vanilla. Beat until thick enough to spread.

This is a really delicious chocolate recipe and a family and company favorite. Very easy to make. Here’s a poem I wrote for chocolate lovers, which I am the number one fan.

    Roses are red
    Violets are dandy.
    Life is great

We (my family) call this BLOODY FANTABULOUS dessert: Chocolate Heaven!!

My husband makes this for us every Christmas; after dinner we make some coffee/tea and serve this to the waiting masses. After served the room is silent, except for the “oh my gosh’s”, “man’s”, “mmmmms” and the noise of forks hitting the plates.

    Here is the recipe!

    7 oz semi sweet chocolate
    1/4 lb unsalted butter
    7 eggs, separated
    1 cup sugar

    1 tsp vanilla extract
    1/8th tsp cream of tartar
    Whipped Cream Frosting…..below
    Chocolate Leaves

    Whipped Cream Frosting

1/2 pint whipping cream (1 cup)
    1/3 cup powdered sugar
    1 tsp vanilla extract

Heat oven to 325 f or 165 C. In a small saucepan, melt chcolate and butter over low heat. In a large bowl, beat egg yolks and 3/4 cup sugar until light and fluffy, about 5 minutes or so. Gradually beat in warm chocolate misture and vanilla. (don’t want scrambled choco eggs)
In another large bowl, beat eggwhites with cream of tartar until soft peaks form.
Add remaining 1/4 cup of sugar 1 tbsp at a time. Continue beating until stiff. Fold egg whites into chocolate mixture (carefully). Pour 3/4 of the batter into an ungreased 9 by 13 inch springform pan. cover remaining batter and refrigerate. Bake cake 35 minutes. Prepare Whipped Cream Frosting; set aside. Remove cake from oven and cool. Don’t panic as the cake will drop as it cools. Remove outside ring of springform pan. Stir refrigerated batter to soften slightly. Spread on top of cake. Refrigerate until firm. Spread Whipped Cream Frosting over tops and sides. Garnish with chcolate leaves/ shavings or whatever you desire. Refrigerate several hours or overnight. This may be frozen.

No flour!! You can see why we only have this once a year!! Its decadent and perfect for a celebration!!

But, hey, your chocolate is in my peanut butter! Make some buckeye balls…

Beat 1 c. creamy peanut butter, 1/4 c. butter and 1 tsp. vanilla until smooth.

    Gradually add 1 1/2 c. confectioner’s sugar and 1/2 c. flour until blended.

Form one inch balls from the dough. Refrigerate on wax paper for one hour.

Dip each ball into 1 c. melted chocolate chips. Refrigerate; makes 60.

We make s’mores when we go camping.

    box of grahm crackers
    bag of large marshmallows
    large Hershey’s candy bars

Place chocolate candy on graham cracker. Toast marshmallow over campfire and place on top of candy and add another graham cracker on top. Devour!

We use wire coat hangers or long twigs to roast our marshmallows. Whittle a point on the end of the twig.

If you like the chocolate and marshmallows in your s’mores gooey and delicious put them in aluminum foil and warm over camp fire. Heavenly!

I love chocolate, and one of the best things I make that uses chocolate, is Chocolate Almond Nanaimo Bars, a moist chocolate brownie, layered with a flavoured custard icing, and topped with melted chocolate.

Nanaimo bars are named after Nanaimo, British Columbia, where they are rumoured to have originated. While the concept of Nanaimo bars has been around for a long time, especially in Canada, where I am originally from, this is a recipe I pieced together for myself, using flavours and ingredients that I enjoy, to make my own variation.

In Canada, everybody has their own version of Nanaimo bars that are their “family” recipe, and this one is mine. I could cut and paste the recipe here, but it is pretty long. It would likely just be easier for me to link you to my blog. That way you can be tantilized by the photo I posted as well and see the delicious, moist chocolate layer, dressed with the creamy almond icing, and finished off with a decadent bittersweet chocolate coating. http://www.northofthe49.com/blog/?p=89

If you get a chance to try it sometime, let me know what you think.

I made Rum Balls a couple of years ago at a Christmas dinner I made for a bunch of Marines that didn’t have the chance to go home for the holiday. I don’t know what I did wrong, but I never could quite get the mixture just right, and they were never quite the ‘right’ consistency. Never mind, though, because they were a HUGE hit! LOL The guys kept sneaking the balls as I was making them, despite me chasing them out of the kitchen repeatedly. There were some left over, at the end of the day, and they begged me to let them have the remainder, which, of course, I did. They still to this day beg me to make some more for them!

The recipe(ingredients can be adjusted accordingly, to taste.):

1 1/2 cups finely chopped walnuts

1 1/4 cups finely crushed vanilla wafer cookies

    1/2 cup confectioners (powdered) sugar

    2 tablespoons cocoa powder

    2 tablespoons light corn syrup

    1/4 cup rum

    Garnish:

1/2 cup confectioners (powdered) sugar, sifted

    Mexican Chocolate Cake

    1 1/2 cups flour, sifted
    1 cup sugar
    4 Tbsp. cocoa powder
    1 tsp. baking soda
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    1/2–3/4 tsp. cayenne pepper
    1 tsp. vanilla extract
    1 Tbsp. distilled white vinegar
    5 Tbsp. vegetable oil
    1 cup cold water
    Confectioners’ sugar for garnish

    *
Preheat the oven to 350°F. Lightly grease a 9-inch cake pan.
    *
In a medium bowl, sift together the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, and baking soda. Stir in the cinnamon, cayenne, vanilla, vinegar, oil, and water. Mix until just combined.
    *
Pour into the prepared cake pan and cook for 30 to 35 minutes, or until a knife inserted into the center comes out clean. Let cool.
    *
Dust with the confectioners’ sugar before serving.

    Makes 8 to 10 servings

Note: This recipe goes great with a spicy dark-chocolate sauce. To make the sauce, melt 2 squares of dark chocolate with 1/4 cup water or soy milk. Stir constantly until the chocolate is melted. Stir in 1/2 cup sugar and cook, stirring constantly, for 5 minutes. Remove from the heat and stir in 3 Tbsp. vegan margarine, 1/2 tsp. vanilla, and cayenne pepper, to taste.

    Coke Cola chocolate Cake

This easy sheet cake is wonderfully decadent and rich. The cola enhances the flavor of the chocolate without adding cola flavor.
    INGREDIENTS:
1/2 cup butter, melted (1 stick)
1 cup Coca-Cola, at room temperature
    1 square semisweet baking chocolate
    3/4 cup miniature marshmallows
    1/2 cup shortening
    1/2 cup vegetable oil
    2 teaspoons vanilla
    2 cups sugar
    2 eggs
    3/4 cup buttermilk
    1 cup powdered baking cocoa
    2-1/3 cups flour
    1 teaspoon baking soda
    1-1/2 teaspoons baking powder
    1/2 teaspoon salt
    2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
Optional frosting: 1-1/2 cups chocolate chips, powdered sugar, or prepared chocolate frosting
    PREPARATION:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Line a 9-by-13-inch baking pan with non-stick foil. (If using regular foil, grease and flour with powdered cocoa.)

Combine butter, cola and semisweet baking square in a saucepan.

Remove the mixture from the heat when it comes to a boil. Stir in marshmallows until blended and smooth. Set aside to cool.

In a large bowl, combine shortening, oil, vanilla, and sugar, blending until mixed. Add eggs, buttermilk, and cocoa, beating at medium speed until smooth.

In a separate bowl, combine flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt. Mix with a whisk so the ingredients are equally distributed.

Add half of the flour mixture to egg mixture and beat well, scraping down sides often. Add cooled Coca-Cola mixture and beat. Add remainder of flour and beat until completely smooth for about 3 to 4 minutes. Fold in 1-1/2 cups chocolate chips. Batter will be thick.

Pour batter into prepared baking pan. Place on the top shelf of the oven and bake about 50 minutes or until it tests done. (See frosting options below.) Let cool completely before cutting to serve.

    Optional Frostings
Sprinkle 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips on hot cake as soon as you remove it from the oven. Wait a couple of minutes for the chips to melt, then smooth with a spatula to frost the cake. Or wait until cake is completely cooled and sprinkle generously with powdered sugar or spread on store-bought prepared chocolate frosting.

    Yield: 36 servings

I adore chocolate, so I would have a hard time picking just one recipe. My grandmother liked to have a bowl of vanilla ice cream with warm chocolate sauce every night (what a great treat for us as kids!) After my grandfather died, I went to stay with her for a couple of weeks, and she was really bummed that first night because she had ice cream, but was out of chocolate sauce and the baking squares she sometimes used to make it at home. I made the following for us, and she really enjoyed it.

Place semi-sweet chocolate chips (real ones, not chocolate-flavored, please) in a Pyrex custard cup just up to the lower line. Add milk till it comes up to the same level as the chips. Nuke in the microwave on high for about 20 seconds, then gently stir to combine. If necessary, Microwave again in 10 second increments, stirring in between, to completely melt chocolate. For a while it will seem like the milk and chocolate will never mix, but keep stirring gently, and eventually they will make a silky sauce. Immediately pour over ice cream, or brownies, or…

Any leftovers may be stored covered in the refrigerator (they will harden) and reheated in the microwave. Add a little more milk if desired.

We headed out to the grocery store within a day or two, and made sure Grandmama had the supplies for her chocolate fixes, but she sometimes mixed up a batch of this for herself, too.

I have the best recipe for Fudge Cupcakes! It yields 24 so there are almost enough for me to share with my husband and daughter (almost).

    4 squares semi-sweet chocolate
    4 eggs
    1 3/4 cup suger
    1 cup flour
    1 teaspoon vanilla
    2 cups chopped nuts (optional)

    ********************************
Melt butter and chocolate squares together in saucepan over low heat.

Drop eggs in bowl and stir with fork to break yellows. Add sugar and flour and mix by hand (or spoon). Add warm chocolate mixture, vanilla and nuts.

Here is my recipe for Black Tie Truffles

1 pkg. (6 squares) BAKER’S Bittersweet Baking Chocolate 1/4 cup whipping cream 1 Tbsp. butter, softened 1 tub (7 oz.) BAKER’S Real White Chocolate Dipping Chocolate MICROWAVE chocolate squares, whipping cream and butter in medium microwaveable bowl on HIGH 2 min., stirring after 1 min. Stir until chocolate is completely melted. Cover and freeze 1 to 2 hours or until firm enough to handle.

USE teaspoon to scoop chocolate mixture into 24 balls, each about 1 inch in diameter; place on waxed paper-covered baking sheet. Freeze 20 min.

MICROWAVE dipping chocolate as directed on package. Carefully dip each ball in chocolate, then return to baking sheet. Drizzle with any remaining chocolate, or decorate with chocolate sprinkles. Refrigerate 30 min. or until firm.

My only problem that I have had is over heating the chocolate. It once exploded, and I mean exploded, all over the kitchen. I felt like I was cleaning it up for months. The funny thing is that it got on the cat and the dog. I couldn’t tell if they were delighted or upset to have been turned into “chocolate covered pets”. Maybe it will become a new product. Lol!

1 1/2 cups graham cracker crumbs
    1 cup chopped walnuts
    1 cup chocolate chips
    1 1/2 cups flaked coconut
1 can sweetened condensed milk (Eagle Brand)

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Melt butter in a 9 x 13 inch cake pan. Remove from oven, and spread the melted butter evenly over the bottom of the pan.

Sprinkle the graham cracker crumbs evenly over the melted butter.

Sprinkle walnuts over the graham cracker crumbs, then chocolate chips, then coconut.

Pour sweetened condensed milk evenly over top of the coconut.

Return to oven and bake for about 25 minutes, until lightly browned on top. Cut into small squares when cooled.

    Here’s my fav choco recipe:

    Chocolate Eclairs:
    2 pkgs Graham Crackers
2 3oz boxes vanilla instant pudding
    2 cups milk
    1 can Sweetened Condensed milk
    8 oz cool whip
    1 16oz tub chocolate frosting

Line the bottom of a 9×13 glass pan with graham crackers.

In a large bowl, combine pudding mix, condensed milk and milk with a hand mixer until smooth. (approx 2 minutes). Let sit in refrigerator 5 minutes and fold in cool whip.

Spread 1/2 of pudding mixture over graham crackers. Top with another layer of graham crackers. Spread remaining pudding mixture, and top with final layer of graham crackers.

Spread frosting over the top layer of graham crackers. I melt this in its tub in the microwave for 30 seconds, stir and then pour.

Make sure you let this set 6-7 hours in the fridge prior to serving. (this softens the graham crackers).

This is my son’s recipe. It really goes over well for a small bite at a family gathering. Mother’s day is coming up and if your kids need something to make you could try this. Line a cookie sheet with graham crackers. Take a jar of marshmallow creme and run hot water over the outside to warm it up a little. Take a spatula and spread the cream on top of the graham crackers. Melt chocolate and pour over top of the marshmallow. Put in fridge to chill. Don’t make the creme layer think, just a thin layer will do. People come along and break off a small piece and eat it. It’s a nice little treat and my son makes it himself.

Chocolate Chip Cream Cheese Ball — so good!
1 8oz stick of cream cheese, softened
    1 stick of butter, softened
    1 lb. confectioners sugar
1 sm. bag mini chocolate chips
    1/4 tsp. cream of tartar
    cocoa powder or chopped nuts
1 pkg chocolate graham cracker sticks

Cream together cream cheese and butter, add cream of tartar and confectioners sugar. Make sure they are very well mixed. Mix in mini chocolate chips. Form into ball by placing saran wrap in a very round bowl, put all of mixture into bowl, wrap in saran and place in fridge for several hours or even better, overnight. When ready to serve just roll in cocoa powder (Hersheys, of course) or chopped nuts. Serve on platter with chocolate graham cracker sticks and watch your friends swoon!

    Hmmm…

    1. Eating the chocolate plain.

    2. Chocolate ice cream! If you have a good blender (I use a Vitamix), you can make it.

    1 c. milk
    1/2 c. chocolate milk mix
1/2 c. sugar or other sweetener, to taste
    1/2 c. nonfat dry milk
    1 tsp. vanilla
    4 c. ice cubes

Place all ingredients in Vita-Mix container in order listed. Secure 2-part lid. Select VARIABLE, speed #1. Turn on machine and quickly increase speed to #10; then to HIGH. Use the tamper to press ingredients into the blades while processing. In about 30 to 60 seconds, the sound of the motor will change and four mounds should form in the mixture. Stop machine. Do not overmix or melting will occur. Serve immediately.

Note: If mixture has the consistency of a milkshake, firm it up by quickly adding another cup of frozen cubes. Process until smooth.

    3. Chocolate and peanut butter! Mmm… I’ve never made it before, but I bet if you made a s’more with peanut butter instead of the marshmallow, that would be super yummy! If I had a chocolate bar I’d try that right now.

My most fun chocolate recipe is Snickers salad.

    10 apples (chopped)
    4 bananas (chopped)
6 regular Snickers candy bars (chopped) or 1 large bag of Snickers miniatures (cut in thirds)
    2 cups miniature marshmallows
1 16 oz. tub chocolate Cool Whip (thawed)
    1/2 cup pretzels (crushed)

Mix apples, bananas, and marshmallows with the Cool Whip. Chill overnight. Top with the crushed pretzels just before serving. Serves a crowd. For a variation, use regular or strawberry Cool Whip.

This is a great potluck dish, especially if children are around–they love it!

Well it is a very simple but very fun and wonderful way to drink hot chocolate.

    WARM CHOCOLATE KISSES WITH HOT
    CHOCOLATE DECADENCE

Enough milk for how many cups you want to make, 2 cups for 2 drinks etc.

A bag of Dove chocolate pieces or any kind of chocolate squares same size as the Dove pieces that you might prefer.

    Whipped cream
    Marshmallows

Take milk for however many cups you want to make. Heat it up. not to scalding, but hot enough to melt the chocolate pieces.

Add 2 - 3 of the chocolate pieces to each cup, pour the hot milk over them and stir.

When well blended, add whipped cream, marshmallows, and then shave another piece of the chocolate over the top.

Take one of the other pieces of chocolate and dip into the hot chocolate drink to melt lightly, then rub over your lips coating them deliciously. Kiss the one you love right away. Yummy chocolate kisses for both of you!!!

You can use your imagination with this one too!! Really add some excitement to nights alone together. hee hee.

As far as telling anymore about this one I think I would get in trouble for it, lol. Have fun and bring a spark and just add another spark to your love life with many woman’s other love, chocolate!!!

I just spent the last 10 minutes clipping recipes! YUM
    I really like these
Cream one stick of butter (8TBS) with one cup of white sugar. Add four eggs, one at a time. Beat well. Then add 1 cup of flour and 1 16oz can of hershey’s chocolate syrup. You can add one cup of nuts. Bake 350 degrees, in a greased 13×9 pan for 20-25 minutes. When they are cool, make this frosting. 1 cup of sugar, 5TBS of butter, 6TBS of evaporated milk, bring to a boil, take off heat, add 1 1/2 cups of chocolate chips, beat until it starts to cool, pour over brownies. These are so good. Really.

    Grasshopper Squares

    Mint Oreos

Thank you for entering me in your contest. Here is a recipe my husband and I created :)

    Coffee Toffee

One cup fresh roasted espresso beans slightly crushed
    One-half cup butter
    Three-quarter cup light brown sugar
    One cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

Sprinkle crushed coffee beans evenly over the bottom of an 8-inch square pan. Combine the butter and brown sugar in a small saucepan and bring to a boil. Stir constantly over medium-low heat for exactly 7 minutes. Immediately pour the mixture over the crushed coffee beans and quickly spread it out top the sides. Sprinkle the chocolate chips evenly over the mixture. Cover the pan with a breadboard and let I sit for 5 minutes. Spread the melted chocolate chips evenly over the toffee. Refrigerate for 1-3 hours. Turn the pan over and the mixture will fall out and can easily be broken into pieces.

This is my favorite fondue recipe:
2 cups (1 - 12 ounce package) semi-sweet chocolate chips or 12 ounces of sweet baking chocolate, cut up
    1 can sweetened condensed milk
    1 cup milk
    1/4 cup butter
    1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Combine the chocolate pieces, sweetened condensed milk, milk butter and vanilla extract in a saucepan. Stir over medium low heat until chocolate is melted and mixture is smooth.

Transfer the mixture to a fondue pot and keep warm to serve

One time, my roommate and I had invited 10 of our friends over for a fondue party. We’d gone as far as buying and chopping all the fruit when, one by one, each of the girls pulled out. They all had different reasons, and they were all valid ones, it was just this bizarre coincidence. So Robyn and I had ourselves a little fondu-for-12-for-2- party. It was awesome.

I’m a total chocolate snob. I worked at Godiva Chocolatier for two and a half years, dipping strawberries by the window. THat’s my favorite recipe, melted chocolate around 83 degrees and dipping berries into it and setting them out to dry. But working there we always had to be cautious of “the Sample Lady.” The entire time i worked there whe never made a purchase but would come in and eat all of our samples. SO, when we saw her coming we’d dash to the tray of samples and hide it under the register. One day she saw us do it and said, “I know you’re hiding them!!!” We said we weren’t sampling that day and she left in a huff. My coworkers and i were slick to be sure.

Favorite chocolate recipe? Just made these a couple of days ago & still have ONE left in the fridge!

    Chocolate Chocolate-Chip Muffins
    1 1/4 c flour
    1 1/2 c cocoa powder
    1/2 c. dark brown sugar
    1/2 tsp baking powder
    1/2 tsp baking soda
    1/2 tsp salt
    2 eggs
    4 Tbsp. butter, melted
    3/4 c. milk
    2 tsp. vanilla
    1 Tbsp vegetable oil
1 c. semisweet chocolate chips (great for mini-chips)

Preheat oven to 350*. Whisk dry ingredients together in large bowl; whisk wet ingredients together in separate bowl. Fold together. Stir in choc chips. Pour about 1/4 c of batter into each muffin cup (OR, use mini-muffin cups and fill about three-fourths full — small size is great for parties!) and bake 23 minutes.

These are SO yummy and delicious! The recipe is very quick and easy, and the muffins are awesome. The flavor is more like DARK chocolate than milk chocolate (note: not a lot of sugar in the recipe!) and I think they go great with a cup of coffee or a glass of iced coffee!

That said… I *loves* me some chocolate, so I hope I win these bags of Bliss! :)

Picking a favorite chocolate recipe is almost impossible! I have many, but one that can be made in just a few seconds is Microwave Smores.

My older sister had a job many, many years ago demonstrating the very first microwave ovens, and this was one of the recipes she made during the demonstrations. You just use two graham crackers, and put a piece of chocolate on one half (I use one square of a Hershey Bar), and a marshmallow on the other half and microwave for approx. 10 sec. (varies depending on wattage of your microwave) You can watch as you microwave, and the marshmallow will expand like a baseball. This is really cool for the little ones to watch and “help” make. After the marshmallow expands, just put the two halves together and viola - you have a yummy desert made in only a few seconds time!

oooh - chocolate!!! Favourite recipe using chocolate….ummmm….how on earth can I choose, I think that it would have to be one of Mary Berry’s cakes - just one thing - you need to do stage three first really as this needs to cool (I have cut and pasted this recipe!) It is certainly one of the easiest cakes I have ever made!

    1. Preheat the oven to 180°C/gas 4.

    2. Place the eggs, flour, sugar and butter in a large mixing bowl and beat until smooth.

    3. Mix together the cocoa powder and boiling water to form a paste. Mix the cocoa paste into the egg mixture.

    4. Divide the mixture among two greased, lined 18cm sandwich cake tins, levelling the top.

    5. Bake for 20-25 minutes until the cakes feel springy to the touch and shrink away from the sides of their tins.

    6. Cool in the tin, then turn out onto a wire rack to become totally cold.

I’m a Pampered Chef Consultant and this is the easiest and tastiest dessert possible :)

A funny story regarding chocolate - my best friend’s younger sister (high schooler) was visiting and wanted to make brownies. We told her to get out the 9×9 pan. She brought us a loaf pan asking if that was correct… What do they learn in school today?!?!?!

    Molten Chocolate Mini Cakes
    —————————-

    Ingredients:
    6 ounces fine-quality bittersweet chocolate (60% cocoa)

1/2 cup (1 stick) butter (do not substitute margarine)

    3 whole eggs

    3 egg yolks

    1 1/2 cups powdered sugar

    3/4 cup all-purpose flour

    Vanilla ice cream (optional)

    Directions:
    1. Preheat oven to 400°F. Generously spray wells of Silicone Floral Cupcake Pan with nonstick cooking spray. Wipe off excess cooking spray from top surface of pan; set pan aside. Coarsely chop chocolate using Chef’s Knife. Combine chocolate and butter in Classic Batter Bowl; microwave on HIGH 1-2 minutes or until chocolate is melted and mixture is smooth, stirring after each 30-second interval. Remove chocolate mixture from microwave; cool 5 minutes.

    2. Whisk eggs and egg yolks into chocolate mixture using Stainless Whisk. Add sugar and flour; mix just until dry ingredients are incorporated using Classic Scraper.

    3. Divide batter equally among wells using slightly mounded Large Scoop. Bake 13-14 minutes or until outside edges are set and center is still liquid. (Cracks will appear wet. Do not overbake.)

    4. Remove pan from oven using clean Striped Kitchen Towel; immediately place inverted Simple Additions(R) Large Round Platter over pan. Carefully invert pan. Gently press on tops and sides of wells to loosen cakes. Slowly lift pan, checking to see that all cakes have released before lifting pan completely. Serve cakes on Simple Additions(R) Appetizer Plates with ice cream, if desired.

    Yield: 12 servings

    Nutrients per serving: (1 cake): Calories 250, Total Fat 16 g, Saturated Fat 9 g, Cholesterol 125 mg, Carbohydrate 28 g, Protein 4 g, Sodium 75 mg, Fiber 1 g

Ok, so I had my nephew spend the night for the first time ever (he was born in HI, so I didn’t see him) when he was three. This visit was soon after Easter. Well, he woke up before me and I guess he got bored and found my Easter basket. When I woke up there was chocolate EVERYWHERE! All over the couch, all over him, in his hair and covering the walls. Just as I was about to scold him, he looked up at me with a huge, beautiful grin, and said “Want some?”. I melted (ha, no pun intended). He was genuine in asking if I wanted some…very sweet. My fault for not waking up!

Ok, here is a recipe that will knock your friends dead when they find out how easy they are (they taste like peanut butter cups)

    Ritz Crackers
    Peanut butter
    Almond Bark Chocolate

Put a little peanut butter in between two ritz crackers like you are making a sandwich. Melt the almond bark chocolate and dip the ritz/pb sandwich in it. Let them cool to a hard shell. YUMMY! If you want to get creative, get dark and white, dip half and half or fling the white over all of the cooled cookies with a spoon to make a neat design. ENJOY!

Wow, looking over everyone else’s recipes, mine almost seems lame by comparison! (And my mouth is drooling….yummy stuff, people!)

Still, I’ll take a stab at this. After all, we’re talking about CHOCOLATE!!

My favorite recipe with chocolate is a Chocolate Chai Pie.
12 oz. pkg. milk chocolate chips, divided
    3 tbsp butter
    1 graham cracker pie crust
    8 oz. softened cream cheese
    3 tbsp powdered chai
    8 oz. thawed Cool Whip

Melt 1 cup chocolate chips with butter in small saucepan over low heat. Quickly spread melted chocolate into bottom of graham cracker crust and up sides; refrigerate until chocolate is set. In the same saucepan, melt 2/3 cup chocolate chips over low heat; remove from heat and let stand 15 minutes. While chocolate is cooling, beat cream cheese and chai in large bowl until well blended. Stir in melted chocolate, fold in Cool Whip; pour over chocolate-covered crust. Sprinkle with remaining chocolate chips. Chill to set.

My funny anecdote is that the first time I made this I was still nursing my son and didn’t give a thought to the chai having any caffeine in it. Wow, talk about having a hard time getting him to sleep that night! Thank goodness I only had a SMALL piece, he might not have slept for the next two days! LOL

I LOVE no-bake cookies! They are very easy to make! There are SO MANY versions of these - here in the Blue Ridge Mountain foothills of North Carolina, we call these Peanut Butter Delights, and you can buy them homemade at any local gas station counter, produce stand, or flea market! I have also heard them called Refridgerator Cookies or Boiled Cookies. There are probably lots of other names!
I have tried making many versions of these over the years, some using melted chocolate, but cocoa powder really is the best choice, so I hope this counts! There is another version with coconut, but I think it is much better without!
    INGREDIENTS
    2 cups white sugar
    3 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
    1/2 cup margarine
    1/2 cup milk
    1 pinch salt
    3 cups quick cooking oats
    1/2 cup peanut butter
    1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Mix together sugar, cocoa, margarine, milk, and salt in a saucepan, and bring it to a rapid boil for 1 minute.
Add quick cooking oats, peanut butter, and vanilla to the mixture and mix well (make sure none is sticking to the bottom!!!).
Drop by the teaspoon full onto wax paper. You have to do this part quickly, or they will harden!
Let them cool and EAT! If you are like me, you will have a really hard time letting them cool! You can also press these between wax paper, then cut into squares and wrap them in colored plastic wrap! Then you can take them with you for a snack, or give them as gifts to brighten days!

OK, this will be brief and remembered, but it’s Fudge Truffle Cheesecake, and it involves cream cheese, evaporated milk, eggs, oreo crust, cocoa powder; you cream it all together and bake it at 400 for 1hr 45min *I think* and man is it good

My favorite recipe that includes chocolate is a pumpkin chocolatechip cake. The combination of chocolate and pumpkin may sound strange at first, but the cake is a big hit. I can not find my folder with the recipe in it. If you would like it just let me know.

Here’s my absolute favorite chocolate recipe:

Unwrap chocolate. Insert into mouth. Chew.

Mmmm. Just kidding. I’ll give you a real recipe now :-p.

    Chocolate Banana Carmel Pie:

*2 chocolate pudding cups (I suppose you could actually make chocolate pudding, but I’m super lazy)
    *3 large bananas
    *2 cans of condensed milk
    *Oreo Cookie pie crust
    *Whipped cream
    *Chocolate chips
    *Chocolate syrup

Preheat your oven to 300 degrees F. Create a water bath with two different sized baking dishes. Add the milk to the smaller one, fill the larger one with water until it is about half-way up the sides of the smaller one, and bake for 2 hours. You may need to keep it in the oven a little longer - the milk should basically become a very runny caramel.

Allow the caramel to cool (warm is ok, but it shouldn’t be 300 degrees).

Create a layer of chocolate pudding in the bottom of the pie crust. Cover that with a layer of sliced bananas (use about 1 and 1/2 bananas). Add about 1/2 of the caramel on top of the bananas. Create another layer of bananas and caramel.

Refrigerate. Right before you’re ready to serve, top the entire pie with whipped cream, chocolate chips, and drizzled chocolate syrup. I guess you don’t really HAVE to do that…you could just do the whipped cream. What can I say? I like chocolate!

You can also freeze this pie if you want it to be firmer. I recommend that if the pie will be sitting out for awhile somewhere warm.

I don’t have a recipe; I guess I won’t win. I do want to tell you a story. I have a mentally-challenged brother who has been in a facility since he was 5. He is now 52. Every time that we visit, we always bring Hershey’s kisses. My brother loves them. We have fed him ‘kisses’ for over 45 years. Also, I have digestive problems. Eatinng Hershey’s chocolate daily when I’m ill gives me energy.

ok… I totally suck at creative cooking so I’ll just give you a recipe my 5 year old son suggested the other day.
“ok mom. you add some flour. an egg. milk. snow from the yard. chocolate ice cream. chocolate chips. marshmallows. then you stir it up. with the beaters. then you put it in the blender and mix it up. then you put it in a pan in the oven. then you turn on the microwave. when it beeps you take it out and eat it!”

    sounds good eh?

I especially liked the part about adding the snow from the yard. mmmmmm. nothing like dirty snow to make a recipe extra tasty.

Bake for 12 to 15 minutes or until a knife inserted near the center of souffls comes out clean. Serve immediately. To serve, open the centers of the souffles with two spoons and pour in remaining chocolate mixture. Makes 4 servings.

I’m watching my weight, but I would love to try the Hershey’s Bliss. Mmmmm….

I recently found this recipe that I am planning to try at the weekend:

    Fat Free Chewy Chocolate Cookies

    Ingredients
    1 1/2 cups flour
    1/2 cup sugar
    1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa
    1/2 teaspoon baking soda
    1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup Karo syrup (light or dark)
3 egg white (or 1/4 cup plus 2 tbsp egg beaters)

    Directions
1 Spray cookie sheets with cooking spray.
2 In large bowl, combine flour, sugar, cocoa, baking soda and salt (I like to sift them together to destroy any lumps in the cocoa).
3 Stir in corn syrup and egg white until blended (dough will be thick and slightly sticky).
4 Drop by rounded teaspoon onto prepared cookie sheets.
5 Bake at 350 degrees for 7 to 9 minutes or just until set (cookies will be soft when pressed).
    6 Do not overbake.
    7 Cool on wire rack.

Ok, simple but decadent. Death by Chocolate cake:
    1 chocolate cake mix
1 small box chocolate instant pudding
    2 eggs
    1 3/4 cups milk
    1 bag chocolate chips
Mix everything but the chips then the chips last. Bake in a greased bundt pan at 350 for 50-55 mins. When mostly cool I pour about 1/2 can of warmed chocolate frosting on top.

This is an amazing pie combining my love of strawberries and chocolate. I would LOVE to tell you that I slaved for days figuring out the recipe. I tested it on all my friends and family..but uh, I got it in my Pillsbury email and it took me 2 seconds to quickly print it out. I convinced my mom that she HAD to have it for her birthday dessert (I am shameless) and EVERYONE loved it. So here ya go:
    Black bottom strawberry pie

1 Pillsbury® refrigerated pie crust (from 15-oz box), softened as directed on box
    2/3 cup hot fudge topping
1 package (8 oz) cream cheese, softened
    1 cup powdered sugar
1 pint (2 cups) strawberries, quartered
    1/2 cup strawberry pie glaze
1/2 cup whipping (heavy) cream, whipped, if desired
    ***
    1. Heat oven to 450°F. Make pie crust as directed on box for One-Crust Baked Shell using 9-inch glass pie pan. Bake 9 to 11 minutes or until lightly browned. Cool completely, about 15 minutes.
    2. Spread hot fudge topping in bottom of cooled baked shell. Refrigerate 1 hour.
    3. In small bowl, beat cream cheese and powdered sugar with electric mixer on medium speed until smooth. Carefully spread over chocolate layer in shell.
    4. In medium bowl, gently mix strawberries and pie glaze. Spoon evenly over cream cheese layer. Refrigerate until firm, about 1 hour.
    5. Just before serving, pipe or spoon whipped cream around edge of pie. Store in refrigerator.
